Pleased to be a part of very appreciated and successful Boys & Girls Clubs of Coachella Valley event, Grand Auction for the 50th Anniversary year  of the clubs in the Coachella Valley.

At Bochnewich Law Offices, we are dedicated to bettering the lives of those in our community in Palm Springs. Below, you will read our latest contributions to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Coachella Valley, and other organizations that are close to our heart.

About The Boys & Girls Club of Coachella Valley

The Boys & Girls Club of Coachella Valley is a chapter of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. The club serves youth throughout the valley with clubhouses, summer programs and after-school programs that act as a system of mentorship and guidance for children that need it most.

Honoring Our 2015-16 Scholarship Recipients

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Coachella Valley has long provided a safe after-school environment for kids who might not otherwise have one. The Clubs provide a place in which young men and women are encouraged to be the best person their talents and abilities will allow, encouraged to be themselves, and encouraged to remain in school.

We all know that the pathway to the fulfillment of dreams and becoming a good citizen is a good education. The impact of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Coachella Valley in helping to make that most fundamental impression upon our kids is borne out by the positive choices the fine young people pictured below have made for themselves.

The future college graduates below are headed to schools including Georgetown University, University of California Davis, University of California San Diego, University of California Irvine, San Diego State University, California State University San Bernardino and Sacramento State University. We congratulate them. They are the future. We are happy for the promise of their tomorrows. THANK YOU to the wonderful Friends of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Coachella Valley for doing so much to help make it all happen.

Boys & Girls Club Sports Luncheon

We are very thankful for another successful Boys and Girls Club event. On February 19, 2015, we hosted the first ever Sport Heroes Luncheon to honor the local sport heroes residing within our Valley at the Hyatt Regency Indian Wells Resort & Spa.

The wonderful MC, Mr. Al Michaels, entertained the guests and honorees throughout the night. The guests enjoyed the famous charm that he exudes on Monday night and Sunday Night Football.

The room was full of Super Bowl MVPs, boxing champions and Olympic gold medalists. We can only express heartfelt appreciation to the Sports Heroes that came out to support the children, including:

  • Jim Plunket
  • Tim Bradley, Jr.
  • Tom Flores
  • Jerry Argovitz
  • Rosie Casals
  • Antonio Diaz
  • Tony Regains,
  • Ron Fairly
  • Dorothy Hamill,
  • Tiani Jadaluang
  • Jiyoon Jang
  • Mary Lake
  • Hogan Lizza
  • Franklin Murphy
  • Dan Murphy
  • William Olvera
  • Marisa Rodriguez
  • Al Rosen
  • Norm Stewart
  • Ron Tomsic
  • Chris Toribio,
  • Jack Whitaker
  • Mark Woodforde

The guests were surprised and privileged to hear from former United States Secretary of State, Stanford Professor and sports enthusiast, Dr. Condoleezza Rice. Dr. Rice has been involved with the club since the early 1990s and wowed the guests with a powerful and funny 15-minute speech. Dr. Rice was positively outstanding, with a kind, deeply insightful and truly inspiring speech.

We owe the success of the event to the thoughtful Mr. Bob and Mrs. Connie Lurie. It was Mrs. Lurie’s unwavering commitment to help the boys and girls in the community. The Lurie family impressed the honored guests and attendees with generosity, grace, spirit, inclusion and good will.

Our company was honored to be a part of this inspiring event. We are looking forward to another successful event on March 14, 2015, the Annual Grand Auction of 2105, where we will help raise money toward the future of our clubs and our Boys & Girls Club of Coachella Valley. Our firm is planning more events throughout the year and we hope they will be as successful as the Sports Heroes Luncheon.
